Organized by NC Climate Justice Collective (NCCJC), the Seeding Sustenance Roadshow is a unique cultural arts experience that blends performance and non-partisan voter education related to our food system, the climate crisis and democracy. The performance explores the sacred connection between people and the natural world, while also naming the harm caused by industrial agriculture and the systems that separate our communities from land, seed, food, and ancestral knowledge. Through spoken word, a cantastoria (portable mural), live music, and giant puppets, Seeding Sustenance invites us to remember our relationships with the Earth and nurture a future rooted in care, reciprocity, and belonging.

These roadshow events are hosted by two of NCCJC’s new Resiliency Organizing Hubs–Art of Action in Durham and From Soil to Strength in Fayetteville. This program is grounded in our ongoing practice of bringing young people, artists, organizers, and community members together. Following the performance, there will be an interactive Talk Back and other community engagement activities to Get Out the Vote!  The performance also features visual art co-created by Paperhand Puppet Project, the Collective on Racial Equity in Food Systems (CORE) and NCCJC.

Roadshow events are FREE!
